Choosing The Right Blogging Platform

Probably the most common question asked by new bloggers is what software should I use. Wordpress, Blogger, Typepad?

There are many different options available and each has its own benefits. Here is my guide to what platform is suited to each user.

For The Busy Blogger

Don't have time to constantly update your blog with long posts? Have a look at Tumblr. Tumblr is an light-weight blogging platform for posting quick updates, pics, vids and links with just a click of the mouse. Tumblr comes with a good range of options for customizing your blogs (or Tumblelogs) design and functionality.

For The Casual Blogger

If you're not into fiddling around with settings and just want to focus on churning out posts than Blogger is for you. Blogger, a Google product is super easy to use yet still provides all the functionality a casual blogger needs.

For the Serious Blogger

Wordpress provides a much more powerful blogging experience allowing you to add an almost limitless set of features thanks to a huge developer community. A self-hosted Wordpress blog will give you access to a huge array of design options and plugins galore. Wordpress is alsosimple to use and will have you churning out the content in no time at all.
